Kristiansand was conceived when two Norwegians, Britt Hovde Ross and Elisabeth Steen, met for the first time in New York City. The two came to New York with intentions of making their mark and establishing themselves in this great city.
 
Their passion and drive brought them together to create a unique fragrance brand. They each offered their own special traits to the business. With the combination of childhood dreams and rigorous artistic passion a bold new alluring fragrance was created.
 
Britt and Elisabeth are very proud of their native country and still have strong ties to Norway. They pay homage to their homeland by naming their product line Kristiansand after one of Norway's most scenic coastal cities and Britt's hometown.

Since the brand is based in New York and was conceived there, the city's name is always set with the Kristiansand wordmark to symbolize where their vision became a reality.
